Ruling On Tabdee Yahya al-Hajoori - Al´Allâmah Muḥummed Ibn 'Abd Al-Wahhâb al-Wasâbî hafidhahullah
Question:
Is it true that you made Takfer upon Yahya al-Hajoori
and what do have to say about Yahya al-Hajoori?
Answer:
This speech is false and it is not correct.
Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah does not make Takfeer upon the
Muslims.
This matter is from the actions of the rawafid whom
make Takfeer upon the Muslims. And from the creed of the khawarij, who make
Takfeer upon a major sin. As for Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah they do not make Takfeer upon a
major sin. Al-Hajoori, we did not say, one of any days that he is a kaafir.
The refuge Is With Allaah.
But we said that he is an innovator. He has innovated into the Deen of Allah, which is not found (in the Deen). He has legislated legislatures for which Allah has sent down no authority.
"And whosoever starts in Islam an evil practice; he gets the evil of it, and the evil of all those that act on it until the day of resurrection, nothing will decrease from their burdens". (Sahih Muslim)
So, he has innovated into the Deen many innovations.
And one of them, for example, if he differed with a person on a discretionary
matter.
Just like the example of Shaykh Abd Al-Rahman
al-Adeni. Is he a hizbi or not? He (al-Hajoori) says that he is a hizbi.
While the rest of the Shaykhs of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah said, “but rather is a Sunni, he is not a hizbi”.
So look at what he (al-Hajoori) did to the rest of
the Shaykhs …
He made Tabdee on them, declared them to be astray,
made Tafseeq on them, boycotted, abandoned, and he ordered his students to
abandon the Scholars, they necessitated many obligations, and they distributed
a lot of audio recordings.
We say to him “Oh you, this is a discretionary
matter, and it is not a textual matter”.
He doesn’t have the position to pass down a verdict
upon the individual declaring him to be a hizbi. This is your discretion and
the positive conjecture is upon you – if you indeed had said this according to
your discretion.
And if it wasn’t said (upon discretion), then you
have said it upon desires.
So in order to assume that this is your discretion
and others beside you have made their discretions and they said, “He is not a
hizbi”. It is not allowed to declare one astray based upon discretionary
matters.
And making Tabdee – innovator
Tahzeeb – declaring one a hizbi
Tafseeq – dissolute
Tafjeer – libertine
And by stating that “they are dissolute”, and that “they
are libertines”.
And that, “they are this”, “they are that”, “they
are abominable”, “they are traitors”.
This is a discretionary matter. Have shame on
yourself.
So he has legislated
this filthy innovation.
Abandoning, boycotting,
orchestrating, not greeting or talking to each other, and if it happens to be
for many years. All of this because of a discretionary matter. Upon him is to
repent to Allah Azza Wa Jal, from this
innovation, which it is an astray innovation, and it is considered to be from
the major sins, because he has lead many astray. If the Scholars did this, if
the righteous predecessors – Salaf us Salih - did this, if the four Imams did
this, there would be no cordiality between the Muslims.
This person sees
one thing. Another person sees the opposition of that, boycotting, abandoning...
there would be no cordiality between two. Thus the reason we have declared it to
be an innovation.
Likewise from
the innovations he has perpetrated.
Necessitating others
to make Takleed of him.
The one who
doesn’t speak upon a matter with his speech then he is to be abandoned, he is
expelled and he is sick. Fear Allah, it is not permissible to necessitate the
people to make Taqleed of you.
You are not a
Prophet, nor are you an infallible Angel, nor do revelations come down on you. You
are a human being.
Necessitating the
people to make Taqleed of you. And asking them “what is your position”? Meaning
if you don’t speak with his speech then you are expelled, abandoned, and you
are considered sick. This is unjustly necessitating the people to make Taqleed
of you.
Upon you (ya
Hajoori) is the position of Shaykh Muqbil rahmetUllahi alejhi, as he used to warn
against making Taqleed. From making Taqleed of you.
And you
necessitate the people to make Taqleed of you. So in order to necessitate the the
Shaykhs – if they cease to speak with your speech.
This is the
innovation in the Deen.
Necessitating the
people to make Taqleed.
Also necessitating
the people to abandon others due to discretions from many of his innovations.
This, what we
said is from the door of “the Deen is an admonishment – (Nasiha)”.
Allah Azza Wa
Jal states,
“O
you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for Allah , witnesses in
justice, and do not let the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be
just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah ; indeed, Allah is
Acquainted with what you do.”(Al-Ma’idah
5:8)
The Refuge Is
With Allah
That we don’t
rule upon desires. As what he did, rule upon desires.
But what we say,
is what we see that brings us closer to Allah Azza Wa Jal.
And that it is
from the Deen. And “the Deen is an admonishment – (Nasiha)”.
And because this
astray innovation, the innovation of abandoning (hexher) one another upon
discretionary matters. If his students act upon this, then they are upon a
detrimental error. They are upon a detrimental error in this world and in the
After - Ahira.
“Or have they other deities who have ordained for them a religion to
which Allah has not sent consented ...” (Ash-Shuraa 42:21)
Likewise the
innovation of necessitating the people to make Taqleed of him. This is an astray
innovation for which Allah has sent down
no authority.
Allah Azza Wa Jal states:
“Follow, o
mankind, what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other
than Him any allies. Little do you remember”. (Al-A’raf 7:3)
